Farm School Review of A Little History of the WorldWonderful review of a little book that I cannot wait to get for my family! It sounds as if it may be very similar to A Child's History of the World which I use to introduce my children to world history in 4th grade (or there abouts). Using the Calvert curriculum taught me the concept of starting with world history and proceeding "inward" - the opposite of our school system's method of starting with the neighborhood and proceeding outward. American history makes so much more sense in the context of world history. I will post my own review of A Little History of the World once I have the chance to read it!

I think you'll really like it Karen. I have to admit that I already got it, even though my children aren't old enough for it yet. I love the conversational tone. And the fact that he wrote it in 6 weeks. Talk about letting go of perfectionism! I'd probably obsess over the title for longer than it took him to write the whole thing!
I just saw a link to your blog when A Little Hisotry of the World was mentioned on one of my loops. I bought this book at a thrift store and am eager to read it to my five kids.
I never comment on blogs, but it in the few minutes I was looking over yours I laughed out loud. I too LOVE History now that I am teaching it to my children. I am saddened at what I missed in my school days as I was busy writing notes in class to my bestfriends. And I too some 20 plus years ago was taught History by the High School Football coach!!!!
Thank you for what you share here.
I should have a poll to find out how many people sat through history with the football coach in high school!
